Johnny Sarich, founder of Johnny’s Fit Ohana, provides free kettlebells coaching three times a week through his Johnny’s Fit Ohana group to men and women located in Hawaii and elsewhere. Johnny has invited the members of The Koa Club to join his free kettlebells coaching sessions in February.
So, what are kettlebells? Kettlebells are cast iron weights ranging from 5 lbs to over 100 lbs, shaped like a ball with a handle for easy gripping.
The American Council on Exercise commissioned a study to find out just how effective kettlebell training is. The researchers saw significant improvement in endurance, balance, and core strength after eight weeks of kettlebell exercises, with the biggest improvement n the core, where strength had increased by 70%.

Johnny will also be providing information about kettlebells, the workouts and other related information through his Johnny’s Fit Ohana website and via emails sent to registrants of the kettlebells sessions.

John “Johnny” Sarich has been weightlifting since he was a young man, and in his 20s, Johnny participated in Olympic lifting, and subsequently, he became involved with powerlifting. He participated in powerlifting world championships in Europe, USA and Canada, winning local and international titles. As a Masters powerlifter, he placed 2nd in the World Championships in Norway and 1st when this event was held in North Carolina. Johnny also still holds the Guinness book of world records for the time when he pushed a wheelbarrow full of bricks weighing 8275 pounds for 260 feet. Johnny has completed five Ironman triathlons, hundreds of shorter triathlons from sprints to half-Ironman races and about 40 marathons. Professionally, Johnny has worked at Ford Canada for 33 years in Robot Automation, Production and Efficiency where he traveled throughout the US and Canada sharing his “fresh eyes” approach with local operations to help them remove redundancy and inefficient processes. When he retired from work, Johnny started focusing on kettlebells and he had been doing and coaching kettlebells for about 20 years. Johnny and his wife, Diane, currently spend summers at their home in London, Ontario, Canada and winters in Honolulu, Hawaii. Johnny is truly an amazing athlete, coach and person.
