Resiliency and Recovery After a Layoff

Change happens on a daily basis in our organizations and it affects every individual in a different way. Change can be good or bad. It can be something positive, like a promotion, or it can be less than positive, like a layoff. Since the beginning of 2023, more than 350 tech companies have laid off over 100,000 employees. Layoffs aren’t just hitting the tech industry: We’ve also seen cuts across finance, retail, and other sectors. Last year, this wave of high-profile layoffs left workers understandably anxious. If you’ve been laid off yourself, you’re not alone—and you’re probably still parsing the overwhelm. Resilience is all about the ability to recover readily from adversity and bounce back from change stronger and wiser. So how do you recover faster?
