What is Collaborate for Success Huddle?
Once a month, The Koa Club hosts an online Huddle for our Premium Members. This huddle provides a safe and encouraging space for professionals to engage in honest, supportive and thought-provoking discussions. We dive into topics that are highly relevant to professionals as they navigate the ever-evolving challenges and opportunities in their work and personal lives.  We often invite a special guest to help lead the discussions in each of the Collaborate for Success Huddle event.

Understanding Behaviors for Executive Presence

Executive presence is and has been a hot topic for awhile now. Yet, despite its popularity and widespread use as a term, it remains difficult to pinpoint what defines executive presence and how to spot those behaviors in others as well as yourself. An executive presence is composed of many individual characteristics that are essential to good leadership yet many people in positions of authority struggle with their leadership presence. But Leadership presence isn’t an innate quality that you either have or not, it is a set of skills and from studied experience with coaches and leaders from all different industries, one of the most difficult leadership presence skills to develop is the balance between talking/leading and listening/observing. We dig into this as well as other behaviors that exude executive presence and how to develop them yourself.

Featured Guest:

Meg Manazir is the Director of Executive Platforms and Narratives for the Microsoft Advertising team. Her stories shape the way the market views the business, and her work deploying executive storytelling on a global scale drives influence across the digital advertising industry. Prior to her current role, Meg spent nearly 7 years in executive communications, looking after content and delivery for Microsoft executives. She led communications for senior leaders through the pandemic, situations of racial and social injustice, war, as well as tech industry layoffs, reorganizations, and business shifts. Meg has deep experience communicating in the tech industry – creating and successfully scaling corporate programs worldwide, driving crisis communications strategies that honor the humans impacted and involved, leading social and digital programs to growth, producing events on a global scale, and delivering empowering communications and presentation training. Outside of work, Meg is constantly in search of growth and adventure. She built a wellness coaching business and became a Pilates instructor, ultimately pausing on those endeavors to spend that time in nature (most often with a backpack or skis), with her people, and deliberately away from screens. In all these spaces and across her life, Meg is a seeker of knowledge, always looking to build people up, and constantly working to create a more equitable, kind and generous world – all with a big smile and a healthy dose of humor.
