Collaborate for Success Huddle – Are you Quiet Quitting or thinking about it?
September 23, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PDT
Susan Seah, CEO & Founder of The Koa Club and special featured guests
On the second to last Friday of every month in 2022, The Koa Club will host an online Huddle focused on women supporting other women in their professional and personal endeavors.
Join us in fellowship with other professional women to foster community, empower each other and provide ongoing collaborative opportunities, which we believe to be crucially important, especially during these particularly challenging times. We want to build a culture where women can get inspired, support, learn, share resources and information, and have a safe place to ask questions and be vulnerable, authentic and open.
Each month will focus on a different topic. For September, we will discuss this latest curious phenomenon known as “Quiet Quitting.”
First, there was the “Great Resignation.” But now there’s a new workplace trend that seems to be sweeping across the country: quiet quitting. The term is going viral on social media. Quiet quitting isn’t necessarily about leaving your job altogether. For some, it’s mentally checking out from work. For others, it became about not accepting additional work without additional pay.
According to a ResumeBuilder.com survey of 1,000 working Americans in August, 21% of respondents say they only do the bare minimum. Another 5% say they do even less than what they are paid to do. The trend of quiet quitting is also shown in the amount of time people are putting into their work. In the survey, one-third of respondents say they have reduced their weekly work hours by more than 50%. But one thing quiet quitting is not about is someone actually quitting. At least not yet.
So, are you currently (or have you been doing so even before the TikTok video responsible for this trend became viral) quiet quitting, or thinking of doing so? What does quiet quitting mean to you and what happens if you are not doing so, but feel that your colleagues, your direct reports or even your managers are engaged in quiet quitting? There is so much to unpack in this topic – come join us on this timely conversation and share your thoughts and insights.
