Since the onset of COVID-19, traveling to far away places and trying the cuisine sounds like a dream to some of us. In 2024, we will be holding a monthly international dinner for a small group of members located in Seattle to get to meet other members in person, and try food from around the world. Join us for a relaxed, no-pressure, fun atmosphere to build connections and discuss important topics. The Koa Club’s Around the World Dinners will be limited to 10 women only, so the first 10 women to RSVP will be able to attend. We will be meeting at various locations in Seattle each time. Each guest is expected to pay for their own meals and drinks. Let’s try some Japanese food!
Leadership in Uncertain Times
Throughout our careers, we are conditioned to come up with the answer — and make sure it’s the right answer. Given that our brains are hardwired to only see risk in uncertainty, it’s physiologically normal to feel stress when faced with unfamiliar change. Although we usually choose flight in these unpleasant situations, it can become a significant barrier to learning, future growth, and performance. It seems that in the last few years any given week provides ample reminders that, as leaders, we cannot control the degree of change, uncertainty, and complexity we face. However, talking through it and adopting new strategies can help us all navigate the ever constant changing state of our world.
