Around the World Dinners: Dealing with Difficult Colleagues
March 28, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT
Free
Topic of the Month: Workplace Conflict Management
Since the onset of COVID-19, traveling to far away places and trying the cuisine sounds like a dream to some of us. In 2024, we will be holding a monthly international dinner for a small group of members located in Seattle to get to meet other members in person, and try food from around the world. Join us for a relaxed, no-pressure, fun atmosphere to build connections and discuss important topics. The Koa Club’s Around the World Dinners will be limited to 10 women only, so the first 10 women to RSVP will be able to attend. We will be meeting at various locations in Seattle each time. Each guest is expected to pay for their own meals and drinks. Let’s try some Middle Eastern food!
Dealing with Difficult Colleagues
Everyone has a story about a difficult coworker. Someone always comes to work late, borrows your favorite pen and doesn’t return it, or is regularly rude to teammates. Most of the time, a difficult teammate’s behavior is frustrating and can make you want to pull your hair out, but is tolerable. But if the behavior becomes a bad habit, it tarnishes the person’s work relationships and causes workplace conflict. The key is learning to deal with them in a way that benefits both you and the organization. Learning a few simple tactics and hearing how others have used them in conflict can help you deal with difficult coworkers and managers alike, making it easier to build positive relationships and a positive environment.
