Collaborate for Success Huddle: Set Goals and Not Resolutions to Maximize Success
January 13 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PST
Free
Presented by
Susan Seah, CEO & Founder of The Koa Club and special featured guests
Description
Once a month on a Friday, The Koa Club will host an online Huddle focused on women supporting other women in their professional and personal endeavors.
Join us in fellowship with other professional women to foster community, empower each other and provide ongoing collaborative opportunities, which we believe to be crucially important, especially during these particularly challenging times. We want to build a culture where women can get inspired, support, learn, share resources and information, and have a safe place to ask questions and be vulnerable, authentic and open.
Each month will focus on a different topic. For January, we will start the year with the topic on “Set Goals and Not Resolutions to Maximize Success.”
The key reason we should focus on goals, not resolutions, because goals are more specific and action oriented than resolutions, which makes it easier to create a plan to achieve them.
According to Shilagh Mirgain, distinguished psychologist, UW Health, the blank slate of a new year can be a great opportunity for people to reset and create a different kind of future for themselves, and offers the below suggestions:
-
Reflect on this past year.
-
Envision your best year.
-
Set some realistic goals.
-
Plan and anticipate obstacles.
Let’s think over these 4 steps and then come to this conversation to discuss your thoughts on how to achieve your best life in 2023!
Featured Guest: Lisa Smith
Lisa Smith is an ICF Certified Coach, co-founder of Shift Coaching Services and has been a stylist for fifteen years with a cabi, a global clothing company. She blends her coaching and styling skills to help people feel confident inside and out. Being a part of such a transformational and personal experience is what drives her desire to hold a safe space for her clients to explore ideas of growth while setting intentional goals and walking alongside them as their accountability partner. She loves being able to help define her client’s personal style with their strengths, goals and body confidence. She believes clothing is the outer manifestation of the inner work. Lisa is a proud, single mom of two amazing daughters – one is a junior in college, the other a junior in high school. They continue to be the light of her life and she loves spending time with them when they let her. Lisa is a native to Seattle and gets outside in nature to run, hike, or walk whenever possible. She is a self-proclaimed bird nerd and thinks that hummingbirds are truly remarkable little creatures! She prioritizes time with friends and family and enjoys connecting over an amazing meal, wonderful wine and great conversation. One of her favorite places to spend time relaxing, reading and soaking up the sunshine is on a quiet Hawaiian beach. What may come as a surprise to many people is that she knows how to hula. Aloha!
